Britten's hand-written notes include: "Written in the opening of The Maltings concert hall. Snape. June 2nd 1967. Overture (with or without chorus), 'The Building of the House,' op 79. Orchestra, 2 flutes, 2 oboes, 2 clarinets, 2 bassoons, 2 trumpets, bass tuba, timpani, percussion (bells, triangle cymbal, zylophone, one ?,) strings, Chorus S.A.T.B. (Tje Cjpris cam be replaced or added by organ or extra from 5 trumpets 3 trombones).
Wikipedia: The Building of the House, is an "overture with or without chorus" by Benjamin Britten written in 1967. The overture is notable for the use of Asian-influenced heterophony. The Building of the House, which had previously only been heard in the Snape Maltings Concert Hall on the night of its premiere, was again performed there for the 2017 Aldeburgh Festival of Music and the Arts, marking the fiftieth anniversary of the composition.
