Joe Van Sickle (American), "Marilyn"; oil on canvas; 40" x 32"; signed and dated, 2/16/48, lower right. Van Sickle studied at Herron School of Art and graduated in 1943. He later was the director of fine art at the Watkind Institute in Nashville, TN. Provenance: Farber Gallery of Art, Indianapolis. The Farber Gallery collections were primarily purchased in the 1970's. The gallery was only open for a few years in the 1980's in Indianapolis. Most items have been in storage since 1990. All items with Farber provenance are guaranteed as described for an extended period of 45 days from the date of auction.
