Inaugural Fine Wine, Bourbon, & Collectible Spirits Auction Press Release by Peter Ryan
Ripley Auctions was established over 30 years ago. It assists individuals, companies, and executors in selling items via consignment, in virtually every category. The company's owner, Dan Ripley, is a recognized art and antiques expert working at the industry's highest levels. He is a third-generation Indianapolis art and antiques dealer.
They are proud to offer several hundred lots of fine wine consigned to them sourced from two private, established cellars belonging to Charlie & Ellen Hughes from the Indianapolis area.
All wine was collected over 5 decades by these long-standing members of the prestigious Food and Wine Society Chaîne des Rôtisseurs https://www.chaineus.org/, based in Paris. The wines presented for Auction were sourced directly from Wineries as well as some of the best Fine Wine Stores in the country. Khan’s Fine Wines locally and Binnys in Chicago, or Sams as it was known decades ago just to name a few. The wines have been optimally stored in a below-ground cellar under a large slab of concrete ensuring cool consistent temperatures. Ideal conditions for fine wines to evolve over decades in darkness and peace.
These lots, include vintages not seen for decades from some of the best regions in the world, including Bordeaux, Tuscany, Piemonte, Australia, and, of course, Napa and Oregon.
The lots also include a range of collectible Spirits including Bourbon and Tequila.
I have been in the fine wine business for over 30 years and have inspected, assessed, and valued several dozen collections in that time. I am excited to be involved with presenting these wines for Auction.
The lots are available for your consideration at www.ripleyauctions.com Bidding is currently open and will be going live on Thursday, December 19th at 6 pm.
If you appreciate exceptional wines and (almost) impossible-to-find vintages this is an Auction you will not want to miss.
