Description:

Murano studio glass vase, designed by Anzolo Fuga and executed by Anzolo and Giuseppe Fuga, c.1953. Tall and lightweight body with a complex pinched and chambered neck and surface decoration of golden iridescence. Hand decorated treatments feature delicate battuto carved trails finely detailed in gold enamel then further enhanced with surreal blue enamel amoebic forms. This important vase is presumed to be the culmination of a series begun in the late 40's. Evidently, it was shown in the 1953 Bevilaqua La Masa exhibit, "Murano plus 9 artists", at the Ca' Pesaro, Venice. 13 1/2"H. Very good condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. Provenance: Richard and Sylvia Birt, Southern California.
