An Atlanta native, raised in Cleveland, Ohio, Charlotte earned her BFA from The Cleveland Institute of Art. Webb has woven forms and a bold color palette into compositions of pastels and paintings she calls "Earth Tunes. It was in this series that she marked her complete transition from representational art to abstraction even though she had hinged on the abstraction genre for many years. Her series, "Still Running Lines Through My Head", highlights the spoken, written memories and experiences of this artist.Charlotte's lifetime interests in theater, poetry, literature and music resonated, and evolved into her art and became the impetus behind these works. She is now focused on creating her current series based on the poetic and musical works of two amazing women.A NAWA member, Pollack Krasner recipient as well as numerous other awards and residences, her 40 year retrospective exhibition of all of these series has thus far been exhibited at, the Hammonds House Museum in Atlanta, Dec. 2010, the NAAHBCU Museum in Montgomery, Alabama and the Bessie Smith Museum in Chattanooga, TN and in part in several fine art galleries throughout the country. Charlotte was honored to be one of the 2011 judges for the Atlanta Dogwood Festival and the 2011 Bombay Sapphire regional finalist, exhibited in Miami's Art Basel. She has been featured in several publications, most recently in the International Review of African American Artists, 2012 and in the Contemporary Women Artists XVI Exhibition, Longevity, at the St. Louis University Museum of Art.
