Chinese Han Dynasty duck pond; grey/green glazed pottery figure group
Square, glazed earthenware or unglazed pottery model of a duck pond, created during the Chinese Eastern Han Dynasty (206BC–220 AD) and placed in tombs for the afterlife. These models depict a pond with various aquatic life like ducks, fish, and turtles, and may feature surrounding architectural elements like fences, buildings, or even human figures engaged in activities such as fishing or bird hunting.

Purchased from Accent East Gallery, NY, 2002.

The center duck has been affixed in place with water soluble glue. There is also glue residue in another layer from a prior break in the same place.

Shipping

Shipping and removal are the sole responsibility of the buyer. Shipping is available by request through a third party shipping service, Shipping Saint. You will be sent a separate invoice for shipping once your initial invoice is paid and your items are packed and ready to ship.
