Minimal use of finishing techniques allows a closer connection to the casting process which generates tremendous energy not too different from the energy that created Earth and Life. As you hold one his forms, feel the timeless beauty and power of bronze.

"I began my work in bronze by exploring the vessel – the most basic form being the bowl. Ultimately and symbolically, the circle represents life itself. Its ancient, yet contemporary purpose is plainly utilitarian. Using bronze as my medium, I have been able to express the beauty and nature of the metal. Using simple vessel forms I can direct the viewer to appreciate the feel of bronze, enjoy the patina and experience the warmth of a polished rim or a surface rendered to gold-like qualities.

The boat, or canoe, was the next evolution of the vessel – my first being a narrowed bowl. Now elongated, this vessel evokes a different utility. Movement. By design, it is meant to move. While a bowl holds food, water, and various goods of life, the boat now carries us and transports our goods from one place to another. The boat means exploration and requires risk. The act of movement means getting into the boat and setting a direction, passing over uncertain water with hope of reaching a destination – maybe one unintended."
