Daniel Merlin was a French painter of cats. He was born at Audigny (Aisne) on 14 April 1861 and died at Paris in June 1933. A student of J. P. Laurens, Merlin exhibited at the Salon of French Artists from 1884. His painting Young Rascals sold at Christies for $12,817 in 1999.
