Biography from The Rueben Saunders Gallery: Born in Louisiana, John Sandlin moved to the Midwest in his early teenage years where his first interest in art began. John served in World War II and during his tour in Europe he informally studied art. In the U.S. John attended the Minneapolis Art Institute, the New Orleans Academy of Art, the New School of Social Research in New York, and the Cranbrook Academy where he received his baccalaureate degree in art. In the early 1960’s he attended the University of Southern California and received his Master of fine Arts in printmaking. By 1967 John was back in the Midwest where he lectured at Wichita State University and the Wichita Collegiate School. It was in Wichita that John founded his studio and gallery, the Ishmael Press. In 1969 John attained national recognition with a traveling exhibition of his graphic works.

The size and weight of a package will impact the cost that the carrier charges. Multiple items will impact the cost of handling. Items that are of high value will require more insurance. If you are not prepared to pay for shipping, do not bid. Some items may require a third-party shipper. You will be contacted after the auction if your order requires a third party shipper. Please let the office know if you would like to pick up your winning bid or arrange your own shipping.
Successful bidders will receive a Winning Bid Invoice after the auction. Please review your contact information. Contact the office if there are any changes. You must pay this Winning Bid Invoice first. Paid invoices are then sent to shipping for a shipping quote. You will then receive a shipping invoice. Paid shipping invoices will be shipped and a tracking number will be emailed to you. Currently all shipping carriers are reporting delays. Please note: It is the buyers responsibility to confirm shipping and billing address provided on invoices.
