Description:

Native American Navajo Exceptional Yei weaving by Lucy Farley (1940-1994), Ca 1970.
Woven by Lucy Farley in the Teec Nos Pos area of Northern Arizona. At the time she wove this piece, she was 45 years old and was the daughter of a still practicing Medicine Man who was 104 years old. It took her 11 months to weave this masterpiece. Note the Spirit Line in the border, still done by the older weavers. There are six Yei figures in shades of beige, russet, and gold with a green corn stalk in the center on dark grey ground with burgundy and brown accents. Extremely finely woven.
