Biography from the Archives of askART
Most of Ted Fuller's 48 years were spent living in a small family farm house in Rolling Prairie, Indiana. He left a lucrative career as a creative director with Bendix Corporation to enter his "second" career as a "starving artist" he actually lived the "Thoreau life". He and his wife "Ellie" began his second career living on $1.00 a day .

His paintings were sold almost exclusively thru Merrill Chase studios in Chicago, and others were given to family, friends, sold out of his home or a leased property on the Indiana dunes state park that he rented to be close to the dunes he loved.

(Merrill Chase "largest galleries in the Midwest" according to an add in the Chicago Tribune may 22, 1970, stated art becomes a blue chip investment depicted a painting by Ted Fuller titled Indiana Dunes.)

Ted did not use a brush. All his paintings were done with a pallete knife. His studio was one very hot room in the old farmhouse in Indiana. The heat was needed to keep the paint pliable and easy to work with.

He donated a vast amount of his paintings for auctions held by "save the dunes" and the money utilized to save the beautiful dunes of Lake Michigan.
