Provenance: Marvin and Jane Farber, Indianapolis; Shephard West Gallery, 1989, Taos, NM. Includes 2 opinions of attribution. The first, a very comprehensive document from Robert A. Yassin, Director of Tucson Museum of Art, formerly the Director of the Indianapolis Museum of Art in which he states "in my opinion, 'Young Woman in Opera Box' is a superb , compelling and exquisitely beautiful work by William Merritt Chase", 1990. The second opinion from D. Frederick Baker of Ronald G. Pisano, Inc. states that he does not believe this to be the work of Chase, 2005.
