Yosuke Inoue was born in Yamanashi, Japan and completed his art education at Indiana University when he received his MFA in Metalsmithing and Jewelry Design at Indiana University in 1990. He works predominately with non-ferrous metals to create one of a kind jewelry and objects used in our everyday life. He works as a self-employed artist to make a living from exhibiting and selling through galleries in Japan and internationally. The direct manipulation of materials such as fabrication and forging are the essential tools to his work, which requires skill and knowledge in technique and the use of his materials. His creativity and expertise has enabled him to win numerous awards, such as the grand prix prize in the Freshman design competition and the Japan Jewelry Association awards, which still take place every year in Japan.

He believes it is his obligation to share the knowledge and skills acquired over the last 30 years with young beginners. He has been teaching techniques he learned in both the U.S.A. and Japan at jewelry and art schools in Tokyo for the last 20 years. He has also been invited to teach metal techniques in Brazil and Taiwan. The diversity of his experiences in both metals and cultures will be beneficial for any students participating in his workshops. His years of experience in supporting himself and his wife with the sale of his artwork will also be invaluable to any artist wishing to make a living as an artist. Yosuke Inoue exhibits his work in 2 to 3 solo exhibitions a year. In 2014 he had a solo show at Streamline XXIV Gallery in Nenohoshi, Daikanyama and in 2015 he had another solo show titled ARTEFACT at Streamline XXIV Gallery, Oyamadai, Tokyo. He has exhibited his work in numerous group exhibitions internationally.
